Benchmarking Geospatial Workflows with Geobench: A Hands-on Tutorial (Serkan Girgin)
Earth Observation Summer School 2026 17 Aug 2026 – 21 Aug 2026, Istanbul, Turkey https://opengeohub.org/events/earth-observation-summer-school-2026 Efficient and reproducible geospatial workflows require systematic performance monitoring and benchmarking. This hands-on tutorial introduces Geobench, an open-source framework designed to monitor and benchmark geospatial workflows across different tools and computing environments. Participants will learn how to design benchmarking scenarios, execute workflows with automated monitoring, and interpret performance metrics to improve workflow efficiency and reproducibility. This tutorial is a follow-up of the lecture "Monitoring and Benchmarking Geospatial Workflows for Efficient and Reproducible Earth Observation". Participants are encouraged to attend the lecture first, as it introduces the benchmarking concepts used in this tutorial. Participants should bring a laptop with Python installed. Installation instructions and example datasets will be shared before the session.
