R provides powerful tools for creating clear and visually appealing maps of spatial data. In this workshop, participants will learn to create maps of vector and raster data using the tmap package, and extend them to include faceted maps and interactive visualizations. Through practical examples from Earth Observation, I will demonstrate how to combine multiple data layers, customize map elements, and design maps suitable for both analysis and presentation. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to produce informative maps and confidently apply these techniques to their own spatial datasets.
